A refined small Delft-style pitcher featuring a hand-painted blue floral motif and shaped with an elegant handle and spout. This charming piece was crafted in the Netherlands by Zuid Holland Pottery in Gouda, a factory celebrated for its artistic ceramic production. Signed on the bottom, the pitcher reflects the distinctive style and craftsmanship associated with Dutch Delftware traditions.

Delft ceramics, also known as Delftware, is a type of hand-painted tin-glazed earthenware that has been produced since the 17th century in the Dutch city of Delft. Inspired by Chinese porcelain, it is characterized by a white tin glaze with decorations, most often in shades of blue (known as Delft Blue), depicting Dutch scenes, floral motifs, and biblical imagery. It was made in the form of plates, vases, tiles, and jugs. The most famous still-operating manufacturer is Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles). Delftware differs from true porcelain in its material (earthenware), hand-painted decoration, and often the presence of factory marks or date codes on the underside.

Zuid Holland Pottery, based in Gouda, was one of the leading Dutch ceramic manufacturers from the late 19th through the mid-20th century. Founded in 1898, the factory gained international recognition for its high-quality hand-painted pottery, often inspired by Art Nouveau and traditional floral motifs. Zuid Holland played a key role in preserving and evolving the decorative ceramic art of the Netherlands until it ceased operations in Mid-20th century
