Set of 3 Meissen Bisque Porcelain Medallions – Goethe, Schiller & Charlotte of Prussia

A rare and refined set of three porcelain portrait medallions produced by the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory for the Berlin State Museums during the era of the German Democratic Republic. Executed in fine white bisque porcelain, each piece showcases the exceptional precision and subtle relief modeling for which Meissen is internationally renowned.
The medallions depict three important historical figures of German culture and history: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Friedrich von Schiller, and Princess Charlotte of Prussia. Each portrait is rendered with remarkable clarity and classical restraint, emphasizing form, profile, and expression through delicate sculptural detail rather than color.
Their minimalist white finish enhances the timeless, almost neoclassical character of the compositions, making them equally suited for traditional interiors, academic settings, or curated modern spaces. Displayed together, they form a cohesive and intellectually engaging wall arrangement.
