This magnificent 12-inch double-handled vase is a stunning centerpiece of traditional Dutch ceramic art. Crafted by the M. de Wit workshop in Gouda, it features a classic high-shouldered baluster silhouette, elegantly accented by two ornate handles. The vase serves as a grand canvas for its lush, hand-painted floral arrangement in a remarkably deep cobalt blue. The entire piece is finished with a beautiful, authentic crazing (craquelure) that adds a sophisticated vintage patina to the luminous white glaze.
A noteworthy detail for collectors: the base is marked with the initials "AP," identifying the work of artist A.P. Dijkman, who was active at the studio between 1977 and 1987. This provenance allows us to date this specific piece precisely to that period, making it a well-documented example of late 20th-century Dutch craftsmanship.
