This impressive extra large Delft Blue wall plate was produced by Boch Frères (La Louvière), one of Belgium’s most respected ceramic manufacturers, during the mid-20th century.
The piece features a beautifully detailed winter landscape inspired by the work of Joseph Sonneville (1892–1971), known for his atmospheric and nostalgic depictions of rural life. The serene composition shows a traditional Dutch cottage, frozen canal, figures skating, and a distant windmill — all rendered in classic cobalt blue tones.
A richly decorated floral border frames the central scene, adding depth and elegance to the composition. The artist’s signature is incorporated into the design, enhancing its authenticity and artistic appeal.
Thanks to its large size, this plate functions as a true statement wall piece, perfect for interiors styled in coastal, farmhouse, or traditional European aesthetics.
The reverse includes integrated holes, making it ready for immediate wall display.

Delftware is a traditional tin-glazed earthenware originating in the Netherlands in the 17th century, inspired by Chinese porcelain. Its characteristic blue-and-white decoration became one of the most recognizable styles in European ceramics.

Boch Frères Keramis, founded in 1841 in La Louvière, Belgium, gained international recognition for its high-quality ceramic production. The company produced both functional and decorative works, including Delft-style ceramics that combined Dutch artistic tradition with Belgian craftsmanship.

Joseph Sonneville (1892–1971) was known for his nostalgic landscape scenes depicting rural European life. His designs were widely adapted for decorative ceramics and remain highly collectible today.
