Belgium has a long-standing tradition of crafting copper and brass objects, especially in regions like Flanders and Brabant. Cities such as Mechelen (Malines), Dinant, and Liège became known for high-quality metalwork, combining functionality with decorative elegance. From the 19th to the 20th century, Belgian artisans produced trays, candlesticks, pitchers, and lamps, often inspired by classical and Art Nouveau styles. Today, these finely crafted pieces are sought after by collectors and admired for their craftsmanship and historical charm. While concrete historical records about L. Maçon Malines (Mechelen) are limited, the signature Dinanderie Véritable underscores its roots in Belgian dinanderie—an esteemed tradition of brass and copper craft centered around the Meuse River in regions like Dinant and Liège.
